Committee Descriptions

§          The Planning Council has standing Committees to help assure mandated activities receive appropriate attention. Individuals who are not Planning Council members are invited to apply for membership on the Care Strategy Committee or the Needs Assessment and Comprehensive Planning Committee. 

§          The following list of committee descriptions provides and overview of Planning Council activities.  Please contact the Planning Council Support office for more information or a committee membership application.

Care Strategy Committee (a majority of PC members)

Meeting time: First Wednesday of the Month, 9am

§         Work with grantee on quality management

§         Development/updating of standards of care

§         Evaluation of the effectiveness of services (outcomes evaluation)

§         Involvement in recommending directives on how best to meet priorities

§         Oversight of Minority AIDS Initiative Plan

 

Needs Assessment & Comprehensive Planning Committee (a majority of PC members)

Meeting time: Second Wednesday of the Month, after Planning Council (12:30pm)

§         Needs assessment

§         Comprehensive planning

§         Coordination of Planning Council involvement in Statewide Coordinated Statement of Need (SCSN)

 

Priority Setting and Resource Allocation Committee (only PC members)

Meeting time: Last Wednesday of the Month, 10:00am

§         Priority setting

§         Resource allocations (Establish and oversee process, to be carried out by full Planning Council and ensure training on the process)

§         Directives on how best to meet identified priorities

 

Membership and Training Committee (only PC members)

Meeting time: Third Friday of the Month, 10:00am

§         Management of open nominations process

§         Recommendation of new members for Planning Council

§         Training of new and continuing Planning Council members

§         Enforcement of member attendance requirements

 

Policies and Procedures Committee (only PC members)

Meeting time: Fourth Thursday of the Month, 10:00am

§         Bylaws review and updates

§         Conflict of interest policy review and enforcement monitoring

§         Grievance procedure review and monitoring

 

Consumer Advocacy Committee (no defined membership, anyone may attend and vote)

Meeting time: Fourth Monday of the Month, 6:00pm

§         PLWH/A outreach and recruitment

§         PLWH/A member and potential member orientation, training, leadership development

§         Ensuring active PLWH/A representation on committees

§         Other support to maximize PLWH/A involvement in the Planning Council
